Hidden Histories: Discovering Los Angeles' LGBTQ+ Collections

ONE Archives at USC Libraries and LA as Subject are excited to announce the debut of Hidden Histories: Discovering Los Angeles' LGBTQ+ Collections. This project is funded by a generous grant from the California State Library, the goal of Hidden Histories is to create a centralized resource of LGBTQ+ archival material for researchers and community members.

Working with over two dozen archives, libraries, museums, and historical societies, Hidden Histories brings together LGBTQ+ collections from across Southern California into an online research guide and discovery tool that will allow researchers, students, educators, and other LAAS members to find relevant and related LGBTQ+ collections. The research tool has been created using the Scalar platform for digital scholarship, and features profiles of all participating institutions, collection information, featured materials, and a topical guide that cross-references themes in collections across those institutions. A digital exhibit featuring materials from participating institutions is in development.
